The photos shown here are part of an ongoing project. They are made with Hokusai's 36 Views of Mount Fuji in mind. The IJsselmeer is a large inland sea in the Netherlands that has contributed to the national identity and cultural mythology of the nation in ways that are similar to the role of Mount Fuji in the Japanese nation building process.
